This direct bolt-on intercooler can be installed in under 90 minutes and requires no cutting, trimming or drilling. It is designed to work with stock piping and we took it a step further to ensure even the stock wind deflector stays in place – improving performance even more!
Engineering and Design
Starting with a 3D scan of the OEM Intercooler, our engineers designed the optimal end tank configuration in 3D for bolt-on fitment while allowing maximum performance. We then took the 3D Drawings and Precision Laser Cut 2-Dimensional aluminium pieces which were expertly crafted and TIG Welded by our team of Fabricators. Together with the Bead Rolled Inlet and Outlet Ports this makes an aesthetic, highly durable product which is guaranteed to never let you down – whether you’re on the street or the track!
Performance Data
We performed a vehicle dyno test to gather data comparing the OE Fiat Abarth Intercooler to the Garrett Intercooler Core. Multiple back to back dyno pulls measure intercooler effectiveness by comparing wheel horsepower and torque output along with intake air temperatures through OBD II data.
- Engine gains 9.3 Horsepower and 9.4 Nm of torque on the very first run.
- Engine gains 32 Horsepower and 28.5 Nm of torque on the 3rd run.

Thermal Data
We logged Intake Air Temperature via OBD II on multiple back to back dyno runs to understand the heat-soak characteristics of the OE Fiat Punto Abarth Intercooler and Garrett Intercooler Core. Intake Temperatures hit a peak of 72°C with the OE Intercooler and the same tests conducted on the Garrett Intercooler Core recorded peak Intake temperatures of 61°C.
Given the limited airflow over the Intercooler, we repositioned the dyno fans and undertook another 5 runs with the Garrett Intercooler Core all of which were consistent at 55°C. While this is a significant improvement, we have not considered this data in our evaluations as we did not test the stock intercooler in this manner. Under real world driving conditions, the Intake Air Temperatures will be significantly lower – we shall capture and provide this data shortly.
